Hey look it’s chartfag’s poster for the 437th time!

As usual, every episodic blogger in the world already rushed out to take their stab at rating each and every show. I’m not going to waste my time over that, but I do have some thoughts of my own on some of the series. My overall thoughts on the season are: looks awesome, but in need of yuri (especially since Railgun is finishing). Also, there are sure a lot of exclamation marks.

Here’s the short version. Entries within each subcategory is ordered from most anticipated to least. I think I have like… the strangest list.

Definites: Angel Beats!, Hetalia Axis Powers, K-ON!, Da Capo Ext.
Probables: Working!, Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, Senko no Night Raid
Taking Peeks: Arakawa Under the Bridge, Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitte Iru Hakuouki, Mayoi Neko Overrun, B Gata H Kei
OVAs: Nodame Cantabile OAD, Gundam Unicorn, Black Rock Shooter

There’s no Impression in regards to Nodame Cantabile at this point, one either likes it or they don’t after two whole seasons. Although, I find it mighty hard to appreciate the anime fully after enjoying the live-action so much. The faces of all the characters just look so… flat (=_= ). Not to mention how much they cut the performances down by.

In many ways, it felt like the Finale chapter had reset the stage once again. Loneliness brought forth by genius seems to be a reoccurring theme within Nodame. For Chiaki, his superhuman determination and drive, combined with undeniable natural talents, are sending him off to the stars where none of his peers could match of being his equal. For Nodame, it’s her unique talent whom few can recognize and understand.

In the art of enjoying blogging, I stopped caring about how late I am on posting things. This is winter catchup project #3, as I need to prepare for the series finale coming next season.

Only the live-action can bring such brilliant tears to Chiaki's eyes

I still haven’t forgiven them for the unbearable disgrace that Toei calls Saikano, but Nodame certainly went a long way in reconciling my relationship with Japanese Live Action. Storyboard wise, both the live-action and the anime followed the same path, with a few differences in presentation that more or less canceled each other out in its pros and cons. However, it’s the performance of the actors, especially Chiaki (Hiroshi Tamaki)‘s face, that really made the live action shine over its anime counterpart. It’s ironic in a way: usually I’m jealous over the facials anime produce that simply aren’t possible in real life, this time it’s the anime that falls short of depicting Chiaki’s moods (prepare for incoming comparison pictospam).
